What is COIL?
COIL, or Collaborative Online International Learning, brings together students and instructors from different countries to work on shared projects, discussions, and learning activities.
These virtual classrooms break down geographical barriers, allowing participants to engage in meaningful global exchanges.
At EVEC, our COIL programs focus on subject areas such as:
– Cultural & Global Exchange
– Engineering & Technical Skills
– Intercultural Communication
The majority of our COILs are conducted in English, aligning with the ministry’s efforts to transition towards English as a medium of instruction.
This helps both students and lecturers improve their command of English while engaging in real-world collaborative experiences.
More About COIL:
Program Format
Most EVEC COIL programs last for approximately four months and adopt a hybrid format, allowing students to join from our EVEC center or remotely from home.
With the flexibility to connect synchronously or asynchronously, students have the opportunity to manage their participation according to their schedules and project requirements.
Key Features:
– Hybrid Learning: Connect from the EVEC center or from home with stable internet access.
– Joint Projects: Collaborate on projects with international students, fostering deeper learning and intercultural communication.
– Flexible Scheduling: Some programs include asynchronous learning for added flexibility.
Join Us as a COIL Instructor
We are always looking for ENP instructors and international collaborators to join our COIL programs.
If you’re passionate about teaching in a global, virtual classroom environment, we invite you to participate.
