Erasmus Plus UK-Algeria Mobility Programme

Erasmus Plus with University of the West of Scotland (UWS) – Ecole Nationale Polytechnique, Alger (ENP)

The partnership is composed of UK HEI and Algeria HEI.

University of the West of Scotland (UWS) – Ecole Nationale Polytechnique, Alger (ENP)

The project aims to deliver education, training, research experience and cross-fertilisation of
ideas in a number of thematic areas. A number of scholarships will be available to the
talented students and staff from Algeria to UK and vice versa. The UK-Algeria cooperation
will cover various disciplines with strong focus on research and training in the field of Smart


technologies for a wide range of application areas to address the research and technological
challenges in these areas.

Normal duration of the mobility and stipend detail are:

  1. 10 PhD students to stay in University of the West of Scotland (UWS) for one year.
  2. Each student will get ~900 EUR per month during his stay.
  3. There is one off travel fund of 360 EUR for return ticket.

Application/Selection Process
Applicants will submit their applications by filling in mobility application form. For student
mobility, the applicant will provide the following:

  • Academic transcripts,
  • Mobility proposal,
  • Impact statement,
  • Reference letters.

For staff mobility, the applicant will provide the following:

  • Mobility plan,
  • Impact statement in the context of career development,
  • Capacity building of sending/receiving HEIs.

Mobility management board (MMB) (constitutes of Prof Naeem Ramzan, and Prof Cherif
Labres) will evaluate the applications taking into account the quality of application along with
gender balance, equal opportunity and disadvantage groups, and forward the results to
project coordinators. The MMB will finalise the selection process considering the wider
impact of selected nobilities in the context of student experience, HEI capacity building,
economic benefits to Algeria. All applicants will be informed about the outcome of their
applications.
